is an artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She explores themes such as the relationship of the body to space and memory and the interplay between origin, surroundings, displacement and exile. Recurring themes in her work include cultural survival and adaptability and political systems and their effects. She works with performance, sculpture, video and text frequently employing textiles to explore aspects of cultural and social history.
Her work is performative and uses methods such as role-playing, memory, distribution and exchange. Engaging the audiences though performance, participatory strategies, her installations take the form of a stage in which the viewer can take part in various ways. Exploring the role of storytelling in social relations the narrative is conveyed and transformed through representation.
She had a solo exhibition at Overgaden Center for Contemporary Art in Copenhagen in 2015. Other recent exhibition include The Moscow Biennial 2013, The Liverpool Biennial 2012, Liverpool, England, Freies Museum, Berlin, Germany, LAXART, Los Angeles, CA, Museum of Contemporary Art, Roskilde, and the Danish National Gallery in Copenhagen where her work is also part of the permanent collection.
